Mystery Jam Monday Part 25

Well, hard as it is to believe, the Mystery Jam turns 25 today. Thank you all for your continued support and good luck guessing this week’s MJ. As always, post your guesses (song and date) in the comments. Hint tomorrow, answer Wednesday. Good luck…

Tuesday Hint: This minus This.

Wednesday Answer: It is the 11/22/95 “Free,” played fifteen years ago Monday. Congrats to JDG for nailing it about an hour after it was (prematurely) posted. See you all next Monday. Tune in early, as we have some exciting news to announce in the world of Mystery Jams.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 24

It’s Monday, so it must be time for another Mystery Jam. Post your guesses in the comments. First to correctly name the song and date is the winner. I’ll post a hint tomorrow and the answer will be revealed on Wednesday.  Good luck…

Tuesday Hint: Rather than a hint, I thought I’d just offer a public service announcement.  The new Phish.net has song histories!  Lots of them!! Those of you who have guessed this week’s Mystery Jam may want to start with this one

Wednesday Answer: Congratulations to moricle for ID’ing this one as the 12/30/09Back on the Train” (although the win was hint aided, which the Blog counts as a moral victory). The Mystery Jam series will return on Monday with what we think will be a very exciting 25th installment.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 23

Here we are, back for the 23rd installment of the Mystery Jam Monday series.  This one probably skews towards the easier end of the scale, but what a jam! As always, post your guesses in the comments.  First to guess both the song and date is the winner.  I’ll post a hint on Tuesday and the answer on Wednesday.  Good luck…

Tuesday Hint:

Wednesday Answer: Congrats to Andy for guessing the 11/7/96Gin,” a must-hear jam if ever there was one.  We’ll be back next week with another Mystery Jam.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 22

It’s the Halloween Hangover edition of Mystery Jam Monday, so I’ll be brief.  As always, post your guesses (song and date) in the comments.  A hint will come tomorrow and the answer will be posted on Wednesday.  Good luck.

Tuesday Hint: Archimedes said it.

Wednesday Answer: Eureka! It’s the 4/21/92Tweezer.” Congrats to bigbean on the first to guess it (though the Blog will point out that it was with the benefit of the hint…a moral victory for the Blog!).  See you all next Monday…

Thursday Update: Fluffyfluffyhead is absolutely right. The rules say you have to name the song and the date and bigbean only named the date.  Alas, the International Mystery Jam Federation is forced to strip bigbean of his title and name cerqs the winner (and award him the prize of two NYE floor tickets). Oh, wait, there are no prizes. Congratulations anyway, cerqs, and apologies to all involved for the confusion.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 21

It’s a big day…the Mystery Jam turns 21 today. Ok, so it’s 21 weeks, not 21 years, let’s not split hairs. Go ahead and buy the Mystery Jam a drink while you try to guess her name. I’ll post a hint tomorrow and the answer on Wednesday. As always, post your guesses in the comments (song and date). Good luck.

Tuesday Hint: It’s been a relaxing week for the Mystery Jam, as she didn’t have to travel.

Tuesday Afternoon Hint: For purposes of the hint, let’s all pretend that Mystery Jam Monday Part 20 never happened. That is to say the Mystery Jam is happy she didn’t have to travel from her Part 19 environs. Let’s also pretend that I’m not an idiot. Insert “BREAKING: Lumpblockclod Fired” joke here.

Wednesday Answer: 12/12/95 “Disease.” Congratulations to Jason Embry for being the first with the correct answer. We’ll be back next Monday.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 20

Without further delay, here is this week’s Mystery Jam. Apologies for the delay, but it’s harder than you think to cram 12 hours of football and baseball viewing into one’s Sunday and still make time for the Mystery Jam.  Post your guesses in the comments (song and date) and I’ll post a hint tomorrow and the answer on Thursday.  Good luck…

Wednesday Hint: The North Star

Thursday Answer: 7/23/99Birds of a Feather.” Congrats to phishroc for being first with the correct answer.  See you all next Monday.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 19

Or is it Mystery Jam Tuesday Part 01? Since we were delayed this week, let’s throw out an easy one.  Hint will come tomorrow and I’ll post the answer on Thursday.  Good luck…

Wednesday Hint:  As I suspected, no hint really necessary on this one, but for anyone who’s stumped and hasn’t looked at the comments, here you are:

Thursday Answer: 12/29/94David Bowie.” As if there was any doubt.  Congratulations to Connor3485 for being quick on the trigger.  See you on Monday with MJMXX.

Mystery Jam Monday Part 18

We’re back with another Mystery Jam.  As always, post your guesses in the comments (song and date).  I’ll post a hint on Tuesday and the answer will come on Wednesday.  Good luck…

Tuesday Hint:

Wednesday Answer: 8/14/04Drowned.” Congrats to Magilla for slipping in at the end and denying the Blog a much needed win.  We’ll be back next Monday…

This isn’t Ticketmaster versus Wiseguy, but perhaps it should be,” he said. “But it shouldn’t be the United States of America versus Wiseguy. Congress has not criminalized ticket brokers or ticket scalpers.

“What if they hired 100,000 people to all get on the site at the same time - would we be here?” he asked. “Or was it because it was a computer? If we are struggling to figure out if this is a violation of federal criminal law, then the indictment should be dismissed.”

Defense attorney Mark Rush, representing “Wiseguys” defendant Kenneth Lowson, who appeared in Federal court in Newark NJ Monday seeking to dismiss the fraud indictment against Lowson and two others.  Rush said what Wiseguys did in defeating Ticketmaster’s CAPTCHA screens with Bulgarian hackers and a network of scalper accomplices were merely violations of the terms of use on Internet sites like Ticketmaster.com, not a criminal fraud.

We’ve blogged about Wiseguys previously here.
